Clergy & Volunteer Safeguarding Resources

All clergy, employees and volunteers working with vulnerable groups, including children, must adhere to the Catholic Church's national safeguarding policies before they can be appointed. The following downloadable documents provide important information on safeguarding for members of clergy and parish safeguarding volunteers.

E-Learning and Online Training

The Diocese provides safeguarding training on a deanery and parish basis. Our face-to-face training programme is available on request for weekday daytime sessions where a group of volunteers, who may not be able to access the online training or find it difficult to use, can arrange a suitable time and place by contacting the Safeguarding Office.

For access to free online safeguarding training, please go to our Volunteer Training page.
