As part of the Festival of Corpus Christi celebrations at Arundel Cathedral, the Diocesan Youth Team hosted a special evening for young adults aged 18 to 35 from across the Diocese.
Attendees were invited to view the Cathedral’s renowned Carpet of Flowers and to hear a reflection on the meaning and significance of the Solemnity of Corpus Christi, given by Fr Chris Bergin from Epsom. The evening concluded with a period of Eucharistic Adoration before the Blessed Sacrament, led by Fr Nick Harden, offering those present an opportunity for prayer and quiet reflection in the presence of Christ.
Praise and worship was led by Catherine and John Watts, whose music accompanied the programme and helped create a prayerful atmosphere throughout the evening.
Reflecting afterwards, one young adult from St Richard’s, Chichester, said: “It was a good way of getting to know other like-minded people from around the Diocese. I was able to experience Adoration and Confession, among other things, with no judgement or expectation.”
Maria Bilton and Martha Legg added: “The evening was a great opportunity for young adults to come together, and we hope it is the start of many more exciting events.” Following the service, participants visited a local pub, where they were able to continue conversations and build friendships, with fellow young Catholics from across the Diocese.
