Bishop Richard led a liturgy for St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School, Brighton, as it prepares to close at the end of term.
Staff, pupils and parents gathered in the school hall and pupils read and sang beautifully, supported by Billie Robson, Choral Director. Each child planted a seed into a pot, to take home and grow, to remind them that the love of God grows in their hearts each day.
Canon Kieron O’Brien, parish priest and governor, reminded the children that St Joseph spent his life managing the change God called him to respond to and assured them that St Joseph’s School will always be a part of them, wherever they go.
The singing of the school hymn was a poignant moment, and Gill Foan, Headteacher, reflected on the service of the school to parish and community over the past sixty-nine years.
"We believe with love and faith and prayer we will succeed."
