St Richard’s in Bexhill supports the Community Larder.

October 7, 2021

Pupils and staff from St Richard’s Catholic College in Bexhill-on-Sea are supporting the Community Larder in Sidley. The fabulous initiative is being held at Freedom Church, Claremont Road, Sidley every Tuesday from 10am-12pm. Not only is it a place for those struggling to access food basics, they also have a debt advice service and a café to allow those in need of support to know someone is listening to them.

St Richard’s pupils are always eager to help-out and swiftly had items coming in. One form in Year 8 donated 110 items!

The school’s motto Comitas Scientia ,Caritas - Community, Knowledge and Charity was lived out when by Thursday, the school had four tables of food items.

One pupil said…“Giving is good but it's even better that this goes to people in our own community”. Year 11 prefects helped to load up our minibus and Lay Chaplain Jo Doyle, and Teaching Assistant Neil Trimby, brought all the items to Sidley where they were gratefully received. St Richard’s hope to continue supporting this venture going forward.
