The annual Secondary Pilgrimage took place on 1 October, the feast of St Thérèse of Lisieux. A beautiful sunny day saw students and staff from twelve secondary schools journey from across the diocese to walk through Arundel together, arriving at Arundel Cathedral for Mass.
Fr Marco Villani, Chaplain to Salesian School, Chertsey, celebrated the Mass, with students participating in various ministries. He reminded those gathered that young people take on important leadership responsibilities within their school communities.
Speaking after the event, diocesan Director of Education, Julie Oldroyd, said:
"It was a joy to see young people from across our Diocese journeying together in pilgrimage and prayer. The day was a wonderful reminder of the important part they play in the life and leadership of our Catholic schools, and following St Thérèse’s ‘Little Way’ – finding opportunities to show great love through the small and ordinary things of everyday life."
