Secondary students gather in Arundel for annual pilgrimage

October 3, 2025

Dozens of students wearing coats and backpacks are pictured gathered around Bishop Richard in a wooded area. He is speaking to them animatedly, gesturing.

Secondary school students from across the Diocese gathered for their annual pilgrimage, on the Feast of the Holy Guardian Angels.

Bishop Richard led the pilgrims in prayer before they set off and after a walk across Arundel Park, Mass was celebrated in the Cathedral. The Secondary School Pilgrimage helps student representatives from the Diocese's secondary schools to gain an appreciation of their place in the diocesan family, meeting with students from other schools and exploring their faith.

In his homily, Bishop Richard spoke of the importance of angels as messengers of God and reminded the student pilgrims to return to their schools filled with the message of hope we have received during this Jubilee year.
