This week, the Education Service was delighted to welcome Jo Boyce from CJM Music, accompanied by her colleague Claire Wilson, to our Prayer and Liturgy Coordinators gathering.

Reflecting on the day, Director of Education Julie Oldroyd wrote:

"We had a wonderful day looking at how we can support our school communities to celebrate liturgies which embed the process: prepare, gather, listen, respond and mission.

"Throughout the day, we learnt new songs and hymns which enhance worship with children. Led by Jo, on guitar and Claire on violin, we had an uplifting day of praise and worship which we all can take back into our schools.

The role of school Prayer and Liturgy Coordinators is outlined in the Prayer & Liturgy Directory, and the Coordinators' role is to ensure that prayer and liturgy is organised, led, monitored, and evaluated, providing relevant support and resources for staff and pupils where required. The Prayer & Liturgy Directory aims to help schools to deepen their understanding of prayer and liturgy in the Catholic tradition.
