Novena Day Three

“Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.”
Matthew 19:14

Today we pray for Bishop-elect Stephen and the mission of our Catholic schools, colleges and Trusts; for pupils, teachers, chaplains, governors, support staff, parents and all involved in Catholic education.

‍

Reflection

Our schools are communities of faith, learning and human formation. In them, children and young people are invited to discover both the wonder of God's creation and the dignity of every human person made in God's image.

We pray for all who work in our schools. Teaching is both a profession and, in a Catholic setting, a participation in the mission of the Church. We pray for patience when days are difficult, wisdom when decisions are complex and joy in seeing young people flourish.

We pray especially for children and young people who are anxious, lonely or struggling. May our schools be places where every pupil is known, valued and encouraged to grow in the gifts God has given them.

‍

‍Together we pray:

Our Father…

Hail Mary…

Glory Be…

Prayer for Bishop-elect Stephen

Lord Jesus, Good Shepherd of your people,

as Bishop-Elect Stephen prepares to receive the fullness of the sacrament of Holy Orders,

give him a shepherd's heart.

May he love every parish entrusted to his care, know the joys and struggles of your people,

and lead us always closer to you.

Through the intercession of St Philip Howard,

prepare him for his ministry among us.

Amen
