The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of England & Wales (CBCEW) and Birmingham Newman University are conducting research into neurodiversity and faith experience. If you are a Catholic neurodivergent adult or a caregiver of a neurodivergent Catholic (aged 2+), they would like to hear from you. Project organisers are collecting information through two short (10-20 minute) anonymous online surveys, which are available to complete until 12 January 2026:
Organisers hope that the insights gained as a result of the study will help the Church to become more inclusive and responsive to the needs of neurodivergent Catholics.
More locally, the diocesan Formation Team is planning a project to develop resources and support for neurodivergent people, and those who accompany them in faith and parish life. Over the coming months, they will be listening, gathering ideas, and creating practical tools to help every parish grow in understanding, accessibility, and welcome.
