Pupils at St Cuthbert's Catholic Primary School, Englefield Green, kick started their "Pupil Parliament Week" last week with a visit from Jack Rankin MP, who represents the Windsor constituency. He led a whole-school assembly and then visited the Year 6 children to inspire them ahead of House Captain speeches.

The pupils thoroughly enjoyed meeting Mr Rankin, who gave them valuable advice on how to effectively prepare their House Captain speeches, which many bravely presented to their Houses on Wednesday.

Following his visit, Mr Rankin shared a message with the school:

"It was a real pleasure to visit the school and spend time with the Year 6 pupils. They asked some brilliant questions and it's always encouraging to see young people so engaged and curious about the world around them. I wish them well in electing their House Captains! Thank you to Mrs Rainbow, Mrs Gray and the whole school for such a warm welcome. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and hope it gave the children a helpful insight into the work of Parliament."
