The community of St Polycarp’s Catholic Primary School joined parishioners at St Joan of Arc Church in Farnham to celebrate the induction Mass for the new Headteacher, Martyn Peebles.

Family, friends, Xavier Catholic Education Trust (CET) colleagues and the diocesan Education Service joined the community in praying for Martyn and the choir and musicians, accompanied by Surrey Choral Director, Fraser Ellson, added to the celebrations.

Bishop Richard spoke of how being called by name recognises our dignity and that Catholic schools do this for each child in their care.

At the end of Mass, Martyn spoke of being humbled by the welcome he has had as he stepped into post and he asked the parish community to pray for him and all at St Polycarp’s.
