The nearly 700 pilgrims from across our community of faith who are in Lourdes will gather for Mass as a whole Pilgrimage for the first time today.
Before Mass, all the pilgrims will pass through the Grotto, the site of Our Lady’s Apparitions to St Bernadette in 1858, and during Mass, the hands of every pilgrim will be blessed for service during the pilgrimage, with the words:
“May the Lord bless your hands for his service, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.”
May all the people of our Diocese be blessed for the service that they give and that they receive in their daily lives, to one another and to the Lord, the Word who is Life.
