Today, hundreds of people from our Diocese are on the move! By plane, by train, by coach, by car, by Jumbulance, they are on pilgrimage to the southern French town of Lourdes, in answer to Our Lady’s invitation to be, with her, Pilgrims of Hope. They carry with them prayers and intentions for our whole community.
Among the nearly 700 pilgrims travelling are 91 Redshirts (school years 10-11), over 50 Purpleshirts (year 12), more than 120 pilgrims needing support, nearly 30 priests and deacons, 16 lay assistant chaplains, nearly 200 Helpers, and more than 50 members of the clinical team, including this year, for the first time seven nursing students, for whom the pilgrimage is a clinical placement, as part of their training.
Let us pray for those travelling and those staying at home but with the Lourdes Pilgrimage in their hearts, that we will all be blessed by this holy time.
