The community of St Philip’s Catholic Primary School, Uckfield gathered at Our Lady Immaculate and St Philip Neri Church for Mass with the induction of Sarah McCurdy as Headteacher.

Sarah is a long-serving teacher at St Philip’s and governors, former and present staff and pupils joined the celebrations along with family and friends. Cllr Karen Bedwell, Uckfield Town Mayor and Cllr Spike Mayhew, Deputy Mayor, both of whom have connections to the school, were present to congratulate Sarah on her appointment.

Bishop Richard spoke of the central role our schools play in the mission of the Diocese and thanked all those present for the support they have given to the school.
