The Diocese of Arundel and Brighton Education Service, Bosco Catholic Education Trust (CET) and Xavier CET were pleased to host the Catholic Multi Academy Trust (CMAT) Immersion Day on Friday. Trust leaders from across the southeast gathered at St Paul’s Catholic College, Burgess Hill, to share and collaborate as we continue to fulfil the mission given to us by our bishops, to establish and grow Catholic Trusts.

CMATs balance two priorities:

1. remaining authentically Catholic communities of formation and evangelisation
2. operating as strong, compliant academy trusts.

The purpose of the CMAT network, which the immersion days support, is:

• leadership development and governance support
• school improvement
• workforce development/teacher recruitment
• sharing best practice across dioceses
• fostering collaboration between Catholic trusts

Monsignor Tony Barry celebrated Mass for the Feast of St Thomas and spoke of the inspiration we can draw from his witness in saying "My Lord and my God."
