Gatwick Detainees Welfare Group's Refugee Tales Walk.

June 16, 2021

Refugee Week comes to a close on Sunday 20 June but there are plenty of activities and initiatives available to take part in after this date. Refugee Tales is an outreach project of Gatwick Detainees Welfare Group inspired by the experiences of men held in immigration detention at Gatwick, and the work of GDWG in 20 years of visiting.

On 3rd and 4th of July Refugee Tales walkers will be gathering in Canterbury and across the world. They will walk and share tales, celebrating our world wide community while taking steps towards our collective destination: a future without immigration detention. The routes for July are being walked, notes made, stops explored and hazards assessed. By July, there will be a change to the countryside, the blossom will be transformed to swelling fruit and all the trees will be in full leaf. To book your place our find out more visit the Gatwick Detainees website.
