On Sunday 3 November, Fr Seán Finnegan welcomed Fiona McGrath, her family, colleagues, Xavier Catholic Education Trust leaders and Julie Oldroyd, Director of Education to the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, in the Parish of Caterham, where Bishop Richard celebrated the Induction Mass for Fiona as the new Head of School at St Francis Catholic Primary School.

During his homily, Bishop Richard reminded the congregation that the two-fold command of love, that of God and of neighbour, is at the heart of the purpose of a Catholic school.

Pupils from the school read the Prayers of the Faithful and the beautiful singing of the parish choir added to the occasion. Celebrations continued after Mass with some very special home-made cakes.
