Diocesan Education Service celebrates Catholic School Inspection results

February 27, 2026

The Education Service is always pleased to celebrate the CSI outcomes for our schools, which across the diocese are all "good" or "outstanding."

One school, St Joseph’s Catholic Primary in Haywards Heath, a school in Bosco Catholic Education Trust, has created a video (see below) to capture their delight with the report they received in January this year.

Catholic School Inspections take place regularly, in addition to Ofsted inspections, and their purpose is to report to and advise the bishop of the Diocese on the quality of classroom religious education and the Catholic life of the school. Inspection also provides an opportunity to inform parents/carers and the wider community on the quality of religious education and celebrate the school’s efficacy as a Catholic community. Inspections are undertaken by inspectors nationally trained by the Catholic Schools Inspectorate.

Inspection plays a valuable role in supporting the work of self-evaluation and continuous school improvement.  It also allows an opportunity to support, challenge, evaluate and promote the work of Catholic schools.
