Council support for Carers in Brighton & Hove.

May 11, 2021

The Carers Centre in Brighton are reaching out to communities, groups and organisations to ensure that members, employees, leaders and managers are aware of the range of support available to carers.

A carer is someone who provides unpaid support to a family member, child, partner or friend who couldn’t manage daily activities without this help. They don’t have to live in the same house as the person they care for. A carer could support someone who:

  • is ill or frail
  • is disabled
  • has a mental health condition
  • has a learning disability
  • has dementia
  • has a substance misuse problem
