Applications for next year's diocesan pilgrimage to Lourdes will open on our website in the new year. Bishop Richard writes:
"Lourdes holds a special affection in the hearts of many across the Diocese. The annual diocesan pilgrimage to Lourdes is one of the most significant pastoral events in the calendar each year and can be a time of great blessing for those able to travel. Next year marks the 50th anniversary of the pilgrimage, and I would like to take this opportunity to ensure that the benefits of the experience, particularly for young people, become more widely known.
"St Bernadette’s encounter with Our Lady leaves a legacy that teaches us of faith and about our relationship with the Lord... All are welcome on our Diocesan Pilgrimage, especially the sick, elderly, disabled, families with young children, and all those who feel called to visit the Grotto in response to Mary’s call. In whatever capacity one may travel to Lourdes, for those truly open to the presence of the Holy Spirit, the experience leaves a lasting and profound effect to the good."
Our pilgrimage is 'Love in Action', we journey to Lourdes to serve each other and to renew our commitment to walk with Jesus Christ, with the help of Our Lady and St Bernadette. If you are aware of someone within your community who would benefit from joining the pilgrimage next year, please contact the Lourdes Office. To find out more about the Lourdes Pilgrimage click here.
