On Monday, the diocesan central team gathered in the St Philip Howard Centre to wish Ann Baldwin "Happy retirement" after 21 years of service to the education team.

Bishop Richard then celebrated Mass in Ann’s parish, St Edward the Confessor, Pound Hill, concelebrated by Fr John Dickson, Fr John Hull, Fr Nelson Daniel and Fr Joachim Osigwe. Colleagues past and present gathered to celebrate with Ann’s family.

Ann was awarded the Bene Merenti medal, a papal award recognising her exceptional service to the Church and to the mission of education in the Diocese.

Ann will be remembered with affection by many for her efficiency in responding to queries and her warm welcome to everyone attending diocesan events, in particular her annual favourite, the Good Shepherd celebration.

We wish her well for a happy and fulfilling retirement.
