Friends of the Holy Land cares for Christians living with suffering in the Palestinian Territories (the West Bank, East Jerusalem and Gaza), Jordan and Israel. Providing immediate relief and long-term practical support.
They are guided by Christian virtues of love and justice and live these out through practical means, by raising awareness and through prayer, as Christ taught.
At the beginning of the 20th century, Christians made up roughly 29% of the overall population of the Holy Land. Today they account for less than 2%. Those remaining face such difficult conditions that many will be forced to leave their homes.
Can you offer Friends of the Holy Land a few hours each month?
- Are you concerned about the situation in the Holy Land and want to do something practical to help?
- Are you willing to speak on behalf of your fellow Christians in the Holy Land?
- Do you have contacts with groups and individuals locally and across your diocese?
What We Need from You
- A commitment to make up to 8 talks, appeals and presentations a year in Catholic parishes and other Christian communities in your region
- Be willing to deliver presentations to Catholic and other Christian student groups, colleges and schools to help raise awareness of our work and inspire fundraising activity among young people
