The strength of community at St Wilfrid’s is a strong one based upon mutual respect. The staff work incredibly hard and are prepared to go the extra mile for the students in their charge. The students are amazing and they contribute enormously to making the school such a welcoming and productive place. The most recent Catholic School Inspection Report (October 2024)and our Ofsted Report (March 2023) reinforce this aspect of school life.
St Wilfrid's has a strong reputation for academic excellence, exceptional pastoral care, and a vibrant, inclusive community, and prides itself on providing a supportive and ambitious learning environment where every student is encouraged to fulfil their potential—academically, spiritually, and personally.
Rooted in the school's Catholic values, Gospel teachings are at the heart of everything the school does, nurturing a culture of respect, compassion, and service. The next Headteacher will have the privilege of leading a school with a clear moral purpose, a committed staff body, and a joyful, aspirational student community.

The successful candidate will be first and foremost, an excellent and passionate teacher with a commitment to inclusive education and a clear understanding of what constitutes outstanding teaching. They will hold a desire to drive improvement in the development of learning and teaching, in ITT/ECT development and whole school improvement, so St Wilfrid’s continues to be a school that students are proud of and where students thrive.
