St George's College is looking to appoint a Head of Chaplaincy from September 2026 to provide strategic leadership for Chaplaincy across the College. The Head of Chaplaincy will ensure that Chaplaincy is engaging, inclusive, and meaningful for young people, with a style of ministry that is relational, compassionate, and rooted in the Catholic faith.

St George’s College is a Catholic school in the Josephite tradition, serving a diverse community of approximately 990 students. While 24.5% of students are Catholic, the wider student body includes many Christians of other traditions, and a significant number of students of other faiths or no religious affiliation. The Chaplaincy exists to express the Catholic identity of the College in a way that is joyful, invitational, and accessible to all, while remaining rooted in the Gospels and the Josephite ethos.

The Head of Chaplaincy must be a credible witness to the Catholic faith, able to communicate with warmth, creativity, and authenticity to young people of all backgrounds, and to lead a team that is visible, relevant, and deeply integrated into school life. The successful candidate will have experience of working with young people, ideally in an educational or youth ministry setting, excellent communication skills, being able to easily relate to both students and staff.
