A two-year 'synodal' process is taking place in the Catholic Church that will culminate in the final Synod Gathering of Bishops in Rome in October 2023. The overall theme is For a Synodal Church: Communion, Participation, Mission. The Synod is open to everyone, with responses invited from people of ages and backgrounds, across our community.
"By walking together, and together reflecting on the journey made, the Church will be able to learn from what it will experience which processes can help it to live communion, to achieve participation, to open itself to mission."
Synod 2021-2023 officially begins in our Diocese next month, with the deadline for group and individual responses 4 February 2022. People from across our community are invited to consider and respond - online or in writing - to the questions posed by the Holy Father, exploring their response to the Synod within their parish, alone, or with friends or family.
To access the questions, online Synod Response Form (which is available now) and supporting resources, please visit our Synod page or download the Participant and Group Leaders' Guide below. Contributions from across our Diocese will be collated during February 2022, with Bishop Richard presenting a summary of the feedback received during an online meeting 9 March at 7.30pm.
