The Diocesan Education Service (DES) are looking to appoint a Director of Education to lead and support diocesan schools on behalf of the Bishop, working collaboratively and collegiately with school leaders. The Education Service of the Diocese has oversight of the Multi-Academy Trusts and Schools of the Diocese ensuring high-quality training for Governors and supports best practice in Religious Education, working with other Stakeholders to support the Catholicity of their schools and the central place they hold in the Mission of the Diocese.
The key purpose of the Director of Education’s role is to promote, lead and manage the educational mission of the Diocese by providing effective leadership and direction to the Education Service in the development and implementation of strategy and on-going leadership and management of the team. This is a senior role within the Diocese and as such the postholder is expected to work collaboratively with the Bishop and senior managers within the Diocese to meet the requirements of the Bishop and Trustees. The Diocesan Education Service team comprises ten members of staff including the Director. The successful candidate will report to the Chief Operating Officer and will undertake regular meetings with the Bishop
